OMG I have been dying to get this post up since….oh…IDK…like within minutes of getting home from shooting this wedding. I don’t evern know where to begin. I guess I will go back to where it all started…(my love affair with Lindsey and Ryan that is…lol) This fabulous couple was referred to my by one of my old college friends…well actually she referred Lindsey’s mom, who referred Lindsey…lol and it was one of those initial consults that when we sat down to chat, it was like I had already known them for a long time. I remember walking away from that meeting thinking “man, whomever books THAT couple is one lucky S.O.B” ha ha and I was so thrilled when I got the email from Lindsey saying they wanted to book me. We had fabulous time at the engagement shoot and I swear our final consult was like 2.5 hours long because I could literally hang out with these two all damn day… I was so excited when their wedding was up next on my calendar! These two had an absolutely PERFECT day…seriously…it was a photographer’s dream. From the picture perfect weather, the beautiful venues/details, and most of all the closeness of these two and their families..ugh…it was seriously unlike anything I have ever seen. Lindsey and Ryan have so much chemistry. They made my job soooooooo easy. There is always one wedding every year where I look back and think to myself…”man, I totally would have done that wedding for free” and although I can’t be certain because my wedding season is far from over, I think it would be a safe bet to say Lindsey and Ryan’s day is the one I will look back on and feel BAD about taking money for….ha ha…especially since half the brides I have booked in 2011 came as referrals from Lindsey and I hadn’t even shot her wedding yet…
I have never seen such warm, loving, compassionate families. I mean I do a lot of weddings where the bride and groom’s families are friendly with each other, but these two families just seemed so “connected”. I know that Lindsey and Ryan will be in great hands with their new marriage because they have such great role models to learn from. Lindsey, I know you are probably reading this and I just want to say THANK YOU so much again from the bottom of my heart for EVERYTHING..I appreciate the referrals you continously send my way, and your kindness never ceases to amaze me. I love you guys and you need to hurry and make some babies so I can come hang out with you again!! ok…now onto the pics…I literally could not decide what to post. I am not lying when I say there were like 100 I wanted to put up here, BUT I still have 5 weddings to blog so I am trying to cut it down a tad!! You MUST CLICK RIGHT HERE TO SEE THERE HIGHLIGHT SLIDESHOW…I love it!
This pic is right after Lindsey’s “OMG I am really getting married today” moment
then upstairs it was like I was in “emotion overload”…lol everyone was laughing, crying, doing that in between thing of “I’m laughing only so I don’t cry” stuff and it was all so overwhelming that even I got a little teary eyed..(and yes even after 150+ weddings THAT still happens… and I am happy for that!)
Ryan gave Lindsey a card and it was obviously very sweet because there were a lot of tears here too…and then of course laughter because there were tears
I am warning you now that although this post is titled “Lindsey and Ryan”…almost ALL my favorites from the day had Lindsey’s mom in them..this is probably one of my most favorite images of all time…and I have another one of those too with Lindsey’s mom that you will see in a bit
Thank you person in the back for adding some cool lighting effects to my pics with your flash
So many times when couples are coming down the aisle they are looking at guests, or looking at me (only having their eyes closed lol, or not looking at anything AT ALL but the ground (which is frustrating…please future brides don’t look at the floor on the way back down the aisle. It bums me out ha ha ) But not these two…they couldn’t take their eyes off each other…look how happy they are…man if I even had an ounce of their happiness I would be set for life I think!
This next one is my MOST FAVORITE IMAGE of the day… I know I am weird but I just LOVE LOVE LOVE everything about it!
like this next one of grandma too but only cuz there are dudes behind her smooching
I am giving a shout out to my fav florist VICTORIA CRIPPS…she’s so awesome and if you haven’t checked her out yet you are sooooo missing out…click on the “favorite vendors” tab up above and if you read one of the posts you can find her email address!! Her flowers are always so beautiful and they hold up extremely well and not only that she is JUST ABOUT the nicest person in the wedding industry…(besides me of course…lol just kidding)
I normally don’t post these straight posed shots but I love the lighting in this one and obviously how cute everyone is!
AND just so you know almost all these were shot with my new Nikon D700 and yes, Nikon BLOWS canon out of the water as far as focusing goes…skin tones…now that needs some tweaking but I would much rather have a faster more accurate focus and fix tones later than an image that isn’t in focus at all with correct skin tones because really…c’mon…what’s that gonna do for me…lol
These two just have so much fun together and I love the way Ryan looks at Lindsey…swoon…
so we went to the Arch and for fun I brought my “flash on a stick” to just get a little bit of a different look…and we busted out some “bitch” photos…If Ryan’s reading this he’ll know why I wrote that ha ha
Funny sidenote…when Linds and Ryan got back from their honeymoon they posted some pics they took while down in Mexico and I am not sure why I hadn’t noticed it before but I saw in one of the pics Ryan looked JUST like John Stamos and I made a comment about it and apparantly Lindsey and the fam have been telling him that for YEARS and when they saw this next photo they told him he should print out a bunch of copies and autograph it with “Best wishes, Love Uncle Jesse”…I think I peed a little in my pants when Lindsey told me that and then when I went back and looked…sure enough…I see an uncanny resemblence of Uncle Jesse in this photo…(for those of you who don’t know we are talking about Uncle Jesse from from the old show “Full House” lmao)
Lindsey wanted the guys to do a “jump shot”…it seems perhaps one of these guys is a tad more excited about the jump shot than the others…I like to title this next one “the over-zelous groomsman” hee hee
I’m not sure what it is…maybe it’s the three cameras I carry strapped to me all day…but for some reason people often like to “work it” for the camera just randomly throughout the day…much like this character…LOVE IT…and dude if you ever get married PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE hire me…we will have so much fun!
so after the arch shots the wedding party walked over to the Hyatt, which is where the reception was, and after almost duking it out with the nasty, mean, parking garage attendant (and MAN I wish I woulda had a camera nearby because YOU KNOW I would have taken a picture of her and scribbled devil horns on her…lol) I FINALLY made it upstairs and saw the guests having the cocktail hour here:
THIS PLACE IS SOOOOOOO FREAKIN’ COOL
I love when I have a series of pics that “go” together and tell a story (which is why I often put two and three together on here…or 4 or 8…lmao) check out Lindey’s face near the bottom…can you tell she thought the cake was “primo”? ha
I am not sure who this woman is…but I could take her photo all day long…I think she is so dang cute!
I also like the way Lindsey looks at Ryan…oh wait scratch that…I love how goofy Lindsey is…lol
One of my favorite things to do when I am editing the dance pics is try to guess what song was playing according to the dance moves I see going on…if I had to guess this one it would be Michael Jackson…lol
and my guess for this one would be stayin alive…lol I know I am so weird but I do alot of editing so it passes the time…what can I say?
Thanks again Lindsey and RYan! I had an absolute BLAST at your wedding and I hope I get to see you guys again soon! Much Love!
